Redesigning Cambridge’s book series to look E for Everyone while retaining its professional credibility
A Very Short Introduction
Book Cover RedesignBrief
This individual university brief asked students to redesign three book covers of an existing series
Description
I chose to redesign three covers from Cambridge’s A Very Short Introduction series. The brief was to make the book covers accessible to audiences of all ages whilst retaining the series’ professionalism and credibility.
To achieve this, I used pastel colours and collage-style cutouts unique to each title, giving the covers a child-like appeal and sense of approachability. At the same time, the realistic imagery and bold typeface reflect the professionally written nature of the series.
The clear design system ensures consistency across the book covers while allowing flexibility for different authors and titles.
